(An Agender view of Cisgender Chaos)
Witnessing discussion
For which I’m not programmed,
Feeling like an alien
In a very unknown land.
From a common foundation
It seems they share,
A foundation that, in me,
Is simply not there.
A cacophony of opinion
Divides and unites,
But I don’t have a weapon
To choose for this fight
Bewildered, agog,
Though separate from the fray,
Love feels far
From my heart today.
Kind voices turn hard,
People choose sides,
Using a measure
Designed to divide.
The units on the measure
I cannot see marked.
And love, today,
Feels far from my heart.
The misfit in me
Feels it keenly today.
Love,
From my heart,
Feels so far away.
